Batna Cinematheque, “AuresCinema Hall”, located in the city center, wasfilledwiththirstyseventh art shows, and others, mostlyyoung people, came to discoverthismagical world on the bigscreen, as confirmed by the 19-year-old student, Hassan Namish.
The speaker and a group of hiscompanionswhowereamong the long queue of queues at the entrance to the cinematicwishing to watch the first film screenings of the Emdgasen Film Festival, and theymanaged to enter the hall withdifficulty, did not hidethattheyhaddiscovered for the first time and directly the world of cinema and the atmosphere of discussing films.

The speaker regrettedthat not manyattendees, includingyoung people of hisage, came fromoutside the city of Batna to watch films, but the hall wasfilled to the brimwithoutthat.
By the way, twelvecompeting films wereshown for the festival’sshield in its first edition, includingseven films for the international competition and five for the national competition, amid a greatresponsefrom the audience and the presence of someartistic figures, including Malika Belbay, Kamal Boukaz, Hakim Dakar and Saleh Aougrout.
For his part, the actor Ali Jbara, whois the artisticdirector of the event, whichwasinitiated by the Lamsacooperative, stressedthat the aim of the festival is to “encourage cinematiccreativityamongyoung people and revive and revitalize the traditions of this art locally and promoteit.”
It isexpectedthat the rest of the short fiction films programmedat the festival willbeshown on Wednesdayevening, whichwillconclude on Thursday at Batna Regional Theater, Dr. Saleh Lambarkiah, by revealing the winners of the demonstrationshield. It isnoteworthythat the Imedghassen International Film Festival in its first editionwitnessed the participation of fourteen countries and includedmanyactivities, including training workshops in the professions of cinema for the benefit of 45 young amateurs, as well as tourism excursions for the benefit of the participants to severalarchaeological sites in the state, including Timgad and the royal Numidianmausoleum Imedghassen.
